Family Therapy

As a child coming from a divorced family, I know how devastating family conflict and relationships can feel and how it can effect the way you feel about yourself. Family therapy is such a positive and courageous step to take to heal patterns of communicating that are no longer working for you.

Adult family therapy will look a bit different than family therapy with children, however the premise is the same. We will explore the patterns that are keeping you stuck in interactions that feel less than ideal. We will engage in lots of creative activities to get you feeling connected and to open you up to your own and each other’s experience. We will explore deeper feelings, build on skills to communicate effectively, and get you to a place where you are being recognized and recognizing each other for what makes you uniquely you. Once we are seen for our uniqueness and have a deeper understanding of our own experience, we can better understand the experience of our family members so that we can communicate without our defenses up.
